our recent collaboration for tête art circle features ahmet levent taşel. ahmet has a multidisciplinary background and spent his career working as a film production artist, tools developer and mostly as the lead technical director for movies such as Spider-man: Spider-verse in helping artists and making artist tools. nowadays he is working as a researcher to innovate how movies are made in the future. ahmet tells more about his work for tête bleue:
"this piece is more a technical art piece than art, however I imagined it to express the shapes and sizes concept with a playful twist where shapes and sizes are not for the apparel, as it usually may be, but for the form of an identity instead.
these transitions may appear as if they are different facial expressions at the first glance, or at least, it is what I wanted to achieve as I want it to throw off the audience and have them question what they are seeing for the next twenty seconds.
we are very used to looking and identifying faces and it is a big part of how we socialize and share emotions. even though these faces express a similar emotion, I like to think that they each induce a different feeling to the audience. as if they express a similar emotion but with their own life experiences and personality reflected as their identity."
